Dana Schultz Shows Early Momentum in Campaign
Focus on Protecting Family Farms, Job Creation Fuels Support
ATHENS – Dana Schultz, local family farmer outside of Medford, and candidate for the 87th Assembly District, is showing early momentum in her race after reporting more than $36,000 cash on hand following an important fundraising deadline. In the June 30th reporting period, Schultz raised more than three times the amount of her opponent, eight-year incumbent Mary Williams (R-Medford).
“Every family in our community is pinching pennies and making tough budget decisions right now,” said Schultz. “The generosity of these hardworking families, and the early support that they are showing for my campaign is humbling. It speaks volumes about the values we share and the strong vision we have for our community.”

Since declaring her candidacy this past spring, Schultz has knocked on thousands of doors, talking with people and getting their ideas on how to make the communities of the 87th district even stronger.
“I am so grateful for the thousands of people that have shared their personal stories with me. They’ve told me that they’re tired of the partisan political games that get in the way of helping our neighbors who are struggling. They want a state representative who is going to stand up for them by fighting for family-supporting jobs, helping small farms stay competitive, and putting rural schools first to protect middle-class property tax payers. As state representative, I will be that advocate in Madison,” said Schultz.
Dana Schultz grew up on a dairy farm outside of Medford and learned about hard work first hand. Dana still helps out on the family farm today, and is also the assistant coach for the Medford High Schools girls basketball team. She is a member of the Wisconsin Farmer’s Union, the Ice Age Trail Alliance, Wildlife Restoration Association, and Ducks Unlimited.
